Lessons learned the first 50 years

I hit a milestone. I turned 50 years old. I am thankful that I don't feel 50.   I am thankful for things God has taught me throughout those 50 years. .  I have learned that God loves mercy and when I feel a sense that justice needs to happen over mercy, all I need to do is remember that I am thankful for when God gives me mercy instead of a just punishment.   (Micah 6:8 8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.) ( Luke 6: 36  Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. ) I have learned that hurt people end up hurting people.   When I am able to see that I didn't hurt them but I am bearing the results of that persons hurt inflicted by other people, it helps me forgive whatever hurt they pushed onto me and move on.  (Romans 12 : 18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. )  I have learned that anyone who thinks they have God

Count down to planting my garden

Here is what my veggie and flower garden looks like today., March 11, 2011.
I love that the birds stop to drink from the waterfall I made. It makes the over one ton of rocks I moved..worth it~

The hillside holds flowers and vegetables in the spring and summer. I have baby apple trees and blueberry bushes and anxiously wait for them to produce delicious things to eat.

In 7 days, I will be planting new flowers (annuals and perrenial flowers) to attract bees to pollunate the tomato, cucumber, bean, peppers, etc...that I will be planting. I will post a picture in May so you can see what it looks like then.  Food prices are high in America.  One tomato is about $1.50.  One cucumber is usually .50 Cents.  That adds up when you have a family of 5.  Also, I am leary of the chemicals that are used to grow/ protect food.  Tomato bushes yield so much.  Our peppes have done well in the past, too.   We like spicy foods, so the peppers will be used often!   I like to cut the flowers to share with friends or to brighten my living room.  It is a joy to see the birds in the garden...with lots of beutiful flowers of different colors.
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
