Ephesians Week 6

Ephesians 5   5  1  Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children   2  and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 3  But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.   4  Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.   5  For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [ a ]   6  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.   7  Therefore do not be partners with them. 8  For you were once darkness, but now you are light i...

Ephesians 2- Part 2

Image
Study and learn. Be changed.  Ephesians 2 Made Alive in Christ 1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9...

The power of His Word- Ephesians part 1

Nothing changes us like His word. Nothing heals us like His word.  Nothing leads to deliverance like His word, for He is the Word (John 1:1) .  Therefore, I am going to share a Bible study on Ephesians in hope you will study it by yourself or with a friend. God bless you.   Ephesians 1 New International Version 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To God’s holy people in Ephesus,[a] the faithful in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise for Spiritual Blessings in Christ 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he[b] predestined us for adoption to sonship[c] through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given u...

He Knows

I am so thankful that God knows everything (1 John 3:20), especially since I do not.  Psalm 139: 1-3 tells me :  1  O Lord , you have p searched me and known me!   2  You q know when I sit down and when I rise up;   you r discern my thoughts from afar.  3  You search out my path and my lying down   and are acquainted with all my ways.  It is reassuraring to know that he is Omniscient, knows everything. His Eyes run everywhere.  13 From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind; 14 from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth- 15 he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do. . Psalm 33: 13-15 He knows everything about everybody all the time. His knowledge is perfect. He never errs, never changes, never overlooks anything. “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have ...

Grey hair

Image
In 2017, I decided to make a change ... No more hair dye. I inherited early grey from my dad's family..and my own 19 year old son already has many grey hairs. I tried covering it with dyes, powders, sprays..always chasing that white line. So, I stopped coloring it, and used Madison reed powder to hide the white until it grew out enough that the brown dye could be stripped out and toned to match my true silver/ grey. That happened over the weekend. So, for me, I had so many reasons to stop coloring. I have autoimmune issues that cause me to have pain in my legs. I knew putting 3000 chemicals on my head every 3 weeks could not be helping. I have had too many friends not have the privilege of growing older, so the signs of aging is a blessing and I will not be fearful of those signs. My choice does not mean I condemn your choice. That's the great thing about being adults. We get to choose.

Who is St. Patrick, really?

Image
Who is St. Patrick anyway? Well, it is said that St. Patrick was born Maewyn Succat in Scotland around 387 AD.     All was fine and normal for Patrick until he was kidnapped by pirates and sold as a slave to work in Ireland. Before being kidnapped, he was probably more concerned about which job to take and which girl to marry when his world was suddenly changed. It is believed that he was about the age of sixteen when he was kidnapped to be a slave, working as a shepherd.   Ireland at that time has a pagan religion which worshipped nature and even had human sacrifice.   During his years in slavery, he remembered the sermons of his grandfather who was a priest.   Maewyn recalled the sermons of his youth and he turned to Jesus.. He remembered the gospel, the good news- Christ has paid the penalty for our sins and we have this FREE gift through Him. We must only believe, repent, and follow Christ. So, having turned to Christ, it is said that Maewyn spent the nex...

The Gift of You

Image
Why are we here? What's life about?  Is it to get as much money as we can before we die even though we take none of it with us?   We can all name millionaires who have committed suicide or accidentally died from drugs, trying to fill up their own hurts. Therefore, we know that money does NOT buy happiness or fulfillment.   Is it to live a life as self-centered as possible; would that bring happiness?   I think anyone that is over 40 can affirm that the most special and memorable times in their lives are when they put others first.   Why is this true? Because God gave us purpose, and told us what He wants us to do to in Matthew 22.     36  “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37  Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ [ c ] 38  This is the first and greatest commandment. 39  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yoursel...
