Ephesians Week 6

Ephesians 5   5  1  Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children   2  and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 3  But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.   4  Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.   5  For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [ a ]   6  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.   7  Therefore do not be partners with them. 8  For you were once darkness, but now you are light i...

Trust the Loving Father

Why are we surprised by troubles? John 16:33 tells us, These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have troubles, but be of Good cheer, i have overcome the world. It reminds me of something that happened to Noah when he was 2 years old.... He was pushing a bubble mower behind his dad who was cutting the grass with a real push mower. All was well until it wasn't. His dad ran over a yellow jacket's nest in the ground. His dad quickly yelled to Noah, ''Run, Noah, run.''. Even though Noah didn't see the danger, Noah knew he has a good daddy, so Noah ran. His dad got stung several times, but Noah obeyed even though he didn't understand why his daddy told him to run. Noah didn't get hurt because he heard his loving father's voice and trusted and obeyed. I want to be more like Noah. https://youtu.be/KB4KcleYiWM?si=cJ_-U4U2e0gL-GVF

Feral to friendly by John-Michael

I have a guest blogger today; my son, John-Michael.  I am so proud that he tries to make the world a better place, a kinder place.  He could easily say that life is too hard to help others, since he has chronic back pain from the tumor that presses on his spine. Yet, for over a year, he has helped with this non profit.... doing what he can.    John-Michael is one of a kind and we are so proud of him.   It is our hope that what we have learned while working with the Feral Cat Program of Georgia will help kittens and people all over the world. Tips for taming a feral kitten  Jamilah when we met her                     I’m   John-Michael and I volunteer for a non-profit, The Feral Cat Program of Georgia.   https://www.feralcatprogramofgeorgia.com/   I am currently working on socializing a feral kitten that I received from a rescue group ...

Grace? Law? (Beth Moore Simulcast 2013)

“The Word we study has to be the Word we pray. My personal experience of the relentless tenderness of God came not from exegetes, theologians, and spiritual writers, but from sitting still in the presence of the living Word and beseeching Him to help me understand with my head and heart His written Word. Sheer scholarship alone cannot reveal to us the gospel of grace. We must never allow the authority of books, institutions, or leaders to replace the authority of *knowing* Jesus Christ personally and directly. When the religious views of others interpose between us and the primary experience of Jesus as the Christ, we become unconvicted and unpersuasive travel agents handing out brochures to places we have never visited.” ― Brennan Manning, The Ragamuffin Gospel: Good News for the Bedraggled, Beat-Up, and Burnt Out Grace… it is all grace.   We say it often, but do we really understand what living under grace means?   This is what Beth Moore’s simulcast was about. ...

His Unfailing Love

Image
I have been asking God to SHOW me that He loves ME.....and He will take care of ME!  I know these things intellectually, but life circumstances can keep me from feeling these truths.  So I prayed "God, show me you love me and will take care of me". I waited..... Nothing!  The next day, I prayed, "God show me that you love me and will take care of me." Again, nothing!  There were things that happened.. things that reminded me of how He loved me and cared for me.    God reminded me how He cared for me and took care of me and held my marriage together when it should have fallen apart.  He reminded me that HE has caused my husband to have a good job in a terrible economy.   But I still felt that wasn't the "showing" of the answers to my prayer.  On day 9, I had a dream.  I dreamt that I was on a roller coaster with some of my friends...traveling to see a house she was building....

From Beth Moore's blog..

Here is the link and Beth Moore's  complete entry on the loss of Rick and Way Warren's son.  I saw the words from believers and unbelievers attacking them.  I couldn't believe it.  I think her response is excellent.  Let's all do what God calls us to do.. LOVE one another!   1  John 4    God’s Love and Ours 7  Dear friends, let us love one another,  for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God  and knows God.   8  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.   9  This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son  into the world that we might live through him.   10  This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us  and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.   11  Dear friends,  since God so loved us,  we also ought to love one another.   12  No one has ever seen God;  bu...

Teaching..and learning... Compassion

Image
http://inhonoroftheking.blogspot.com/2012/03/through-trudys-eyes-her-rescue.html     I first told you about Trudy over a year ago.  She has survived horrific abuse at the hands of people. ..abuse that never would have happened if that person had ANY compassion.  Compassion. Compassion- a feeling of deep sympathy or sorrow for another who is stricken with misfortune, accompanied by the strong desire to alleviate the suffering. I want my children to have compassion and I think an easy way to start is to build a compassion towards those who have no ability to give anything... no ability to help themselves... animals.   I hope that compassion towards animals would easily bloom into compassion towards people, made in God's image.    It amazes me the example of compassion my children have been able to see from people and animals at Save The Horses.  Sweetie is an old mare that guards Trudy, the blind horse, from o...
