Ephesians Week 6

Ephesians 5   5  1  Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children   2  and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 3  But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.   4  Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.   5  For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [ a ]   6  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.   7  Therefore do not be partners with them. 8  For you were once darkness, but now you are light i...

From Beth Moore's blog..

Here is the link and Beth Moore's  complete entry on the loss of Rick and Way Warren's son.  I saw the words from believers and unbelievers attacking them.  I couldn't believe it.  I think her response is excellent.  Let's all do what God calls us to do.. LOVE one another!   1  John 4    God’s Love and Ours 7  Dear friends, let us love one another,  for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God  and knows God.   8  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.   9  This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son  into the world that we might live through him.   10  This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us  and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.   11  Dear friends,  since God so loved us,  we also ought to love one another.   12  No one has ever seen God;  bu...

Christian Conflict - Colossians 4

Image
For  several months I have been pulling myself out of my warm, toasty bed at the crazy time of 5:20 a.m. to meet a group of -oh-so-worth-it ladies at 6:00 a.m.   Being so-not a morning person, I hesitated to begin a group at this time, but this was the best time for all of the other moms.  We have journey through several studies and today, we completed our study on Colossians.   This is the end of Colossians 4.   Many of us thought this wasn't necessary to study, but KNOWING God's word is living and breathing and useful for all training, I knew there had to be more than meets the eye.   ...and is there! Final Greetings 7  Tychicus  will tell you all the news about me. He is a dear brother, a faithful minister and fellow servant [ a ]  in the Lord.   8  I am sending him to you for the express purpose that you may know about our [ b ]  circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts.   9  He is coming with On...

I am trying to catch my blog up... several things have happened that I haven't blogged about.  My mother in law had a heart cath two days ago.  They said her heart is stable.  Good news.  However, when she came home (the same day), she saw that her Westies were taken from her yard.  Please pray she gets Jade and Bennie back.  Noah turned 14 years old.  He wanted to go eat Sushi (His daddy likes I...I do not).   He had a triple chocolate cake and went to the movies...as well as to go ride giant goKarts at a local amusement park.  Olivie', my little Pappi-poodle also had a birthday on the same day.  She is 2.  She is such a love bug.  John-Michael has been begging us to let her sleep with him and since she is a barker...and doesn't know how loud she barks...since she is deaf...we let John-Michael try it.  She is so much better at night.  Madeline and John-Michael decided I am the worst mom ever..since...

Spiritual Toddlers

Image
In this video, this daddy (the toddler calls him "papa") is lovingly playing hide and seek with his two-year old daughter.. all while she has a camera strapped to her head.  It is so sweet to see things from her point of view.  After watching this video,    my mind moved to this morning's sermon that I heard at Grace Fellowship Church.   As  I mediated on the sermon  .........that we need not focus on morality or a  list of do and do nots..as much as we should elevate..dwell on.. be in constant awe of the gospel..., ...remembering/ acknowledging that Christ's love compels us..and the Holy Spirit changes us.        I thought this video is a good picture of how people  usually think.    .... We think we can comprehend  our Heavenly Father.  We think we can fully comprehend the gospel.  We need to daily be  amazed by it.  We think we can .....i...
