Ephesians Week 6

Ephesians 5   5  1  Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children   2  and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 3  But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.   4  Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.   5  For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [ a ]   6  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.   7  Therefore do not be partners with them. 8  For you were once darkness, but now you are light i...

Duck Dynasty- Their Goose is Cooked?

Are there perfect people on earth, people that don't mess up, hurt others, regret words, wish they said things differently?  No, we are all sinners, sinners who still mess up... who still think selfishly at times, who still struggle to put ourselves aside and think of others first. I think our actions, the way we display love, is the only way they will see Christ.    Our call is that of a peacemaker,  building peace within the church and making peace with those outside of it. Jen Hatmaker stated it this way:   We should refuse to contribute to someone’s pain by speaking about them abstractedly, distantly, as if they aren’t real human beings whose lives bear actual repercussions of our casual public conversations. The sterile public sphere outside of the protective confines of relationships is not a safe place for such weighty discussions, and we should not add to the pile of condescending, degrading comments about real human people. These precious, fragile co...

Guilty pleasure- Biggest Loser/ Dancing with the Stars

Image
I don't watch more TV. I rarely watch sitcom TV. I don't like drama: I get enough of that in my house. I don't like suspense: I have enough stress in my real life..thank you very much. However, I enjoy watching two shows: Biggest Loser and Dancing with the Stars. I think it is the transformation and the pushing beyond what you thought you could do ....that makes me a fan! It is amazing to see how people on the Biggest Loser see this huge goal...and chip at it...little by little... and meet it! Dancing with the Stars is just fun! Fun to see ..how someone with at least a little rhythm can become quite a good dancer. How about you all? Do you have something on TV you really like to watch.
