Ephesians Week 6

Ephesians 5   5  1  Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children   2  and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 3  But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.   4  Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.   5  For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [ a ]   6  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.   7  Therefore do not be partners with them. 8  For you were once darkness, but now you are light i...

Goodbye 2012. Hello, 2013

My class put on a Christmas play and my son, John-Michael, was a wise man.  I think the children  learned things, had fun, and made memories.   We were sad that Albert, the goat at Save The Horses, ended up dying from Goat Polio.  We was well loved and will certainly be missed.  I tried my hand at pet portraits over Christmas break.  Hopefully, they  will improve the more I do them. It was fun though.  The children eagerly awaited Christmas morning.  John-Michael's favorite gift was a drum set.  Madeline's favorite gift was a karaoke machine.  And ... Noah's favorite gift was a couple of Wii U games.   It certainly has been louder in my house. :)  Dirk, our 10 year old Schoodle had unexpected surgery. We noticed that he have several knots on his chest and back and a red growth in his mouth. He hasn't had his stitches out yet, but the pathology report showed the knots were just cys...

A summer's Week of a Mom...

Image
It has been a week since I have blogged..  Life is busy...even in the summer... three kids, many friends... hopping here and there.  I added pink to my hair.. it washes out in a couple of weeks.  I painted a few paintings ..including this "Power Horse" in red as a fundraiser for the rescue where we volunteer.  Alivie, a 5 year old race horse at the rescue, had her intestines removed twice this past month..once due to an obstruction...  and once due to a twist in her colon (a complication from the 1st surgery).  She finally made it back to the rescue. Here Madeline is greeting her as Sam in holding the lead rope.  John-Michael tells her that he has been praying for her and is so glad she is back.  The kids have had friends over... and we went to see Madagascar 3. We really liked it.  I went to see my dad on father's day. Here is his rescue-pitbull, Baby. See her sweet smiling face.   She is about  6 or ...

I haven't ever blogged my paintings in progress..until now . You can order my paintings at my website www.scripturepainting.com   or on Facebook at "scripture paintings by Rachel".  If you "like" my Facebook page, you can order a custom painting (your verse..your colors) for $10 off  the normal $50 price for an original acrylic painting on a gallery wrapped canvas.  (One offer per person).  Just tell me that you are on my Friends -list on my "scripture paintings by Rachel" when you make your order. So..here is how I painted a sheep.. just finished today.  I decided not to put a verse on it, because I have so many favorite sheep verses. Psalm 23: 1-4 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.  Psalm 79: 13 Then we your people, the sheep o...

R and R for Mom....

I finally have had a few nights in a row to finish some of my paintings.  The "Act Justly" painting have John-Michael's handprints and feet prints.. I am playing around with two new "house rules"... The dessert paintings were so fun to paint... makes me hungry.   We all need to take a little time for rest and relaxation.. a time to renew ourselves so we have something to give to others.  What is your R & R thing?
