Ephesians Week 6

Ephesians 5   5  1  Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children   2  and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 3  But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.   4  Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.   5  For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [ a ]   6  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.   7  Therefore do not be partners with them. 8  For you were once darkness, but now you are light i...

Feral to friendly by John-Michael

Image
I have a guest blogger today; my son, John-Michael.  I am so proud that he tries to make the world a better place, a kinder place.  He could easily say that life is too hard to help others, since he has chronic back pain from the tumor that presses on his spine. Yet, for over a year, he has helped with this non profit.... doing what he can.    John-Michael is one of a kind and we are so proud of him.   It is our hope that what we have learned while working with the Feral Cat Program of Georgia will help kittens and people all over the world. Tips for taming a feral kitten  Jamilah when we met her                     I’m   John-Michael and I volunteer for a non-profit, The Feral Cat Program of Georgia.   https://www.feralcatprogramofgeorgia.com/   I am currently working on socializing a feral kitten that I received from a rescue group ...

NF Awareness Month

Image
I wish I knew Jesse's mom's name. She did  a great job explaining what it is like to be a parent who has a child with NF.  There is always Hope in Christ... for God says over and over that HE is slow to anger and abounding with Love.  For that, I am thankful. Many thanks to Toan from Go Inspire Go who sent John-Michael this super Hero cape! A Tribute to the Parents of NF It all began with “coffee” marks on my precious new baby’s otherwise perfect skin. When the doctor said Neurofibromatosis, we entered a new world. We didn’t ask to go to this new place. We didn’t buy plane tickets or Mapquest it. But we got there nonetheless. ...In this new world there were things we’d never heard before. There were bone abnormalities called dysplasias, bowing, pseudoarthrosis, scoliosis… There were tumors called plexiforms, neurofibromas, gliomas, astrocytomas… Learning disabilities and developmental delays opened us up to things we knew existed, but never th...

Update on John-Michael (after surgery)

Image
The Sunday before his surgery, John-Michael was baptized...and his daddy (Russell- my husband) was able to baptize him just as he baptized our oldest son, Noah.  John-Michael was so excited to let the world know that he had decided to answer God's call upon his life.  Four days later, it was surgery day.  ... day to debulk the plexiform fibroma by his spine.  The surgery lasted about 90 minutes.. Then, he came back very sleepy, and nauseous. Despite the nausea, with a few special bags for the ride home, we made it home later that evening.  John-Michael was greeted by his brother and sister and his two dogs.  He was thrilled to find two goody bags from friends, filled with his favorite things (chips, salsa, hot wheel cars, legos, etc).  He also loved the letters from his friends. Soon, came cards... LOTS of cards! The next day, more cards! He has some BANDAID... but he is one tough boy...and he has a BIGGER God! ...
