Lessons learned the first 50 years

I hit a milestone. I turned 50 years old. I am thankful that I don't feel 50.   I am thankful for things God has taught me throughout those 50 years. .  I have learned that God loves mercy and when I feel a sense that justice needs to happen over mercy, all I need to do is remember that I am thankful for when God gives me mercy instead of a just punishment.   (Micah 6:8 8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.) ( Luke 6: 36  Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. ) I have learned that hurt people end up hurting people.   When I am able to see that I didn't hurt them but I am bearing the results of that persons hurt inflicted by other people, it helps me forgive whatever hurt they pushed onto me and move on.  (Romans 12 : 18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. )  I have learned that anyone who thinks they have God

The Gift of Dyslexia

He just had to have the disguise..
Don't let my blue hair fool you.  I am well educated.LOL.. I have my master's degree and specialist's degree in Early Childhood Education.  After today, I am wishing that it was in Learning Disabilities.  With each degree, I had to take at least one class in learning disabilities.   Today John-Michael saw an LD specialist and was diagnosed with dyslexia.  It isn't surprising because as high as 75% of NF kids have learning disabilities.  I am not worried..but I have some things to re-learn and to learn well.

  2. They are highly aware of the environment.
  3. They are more curious than average.
  4. They think mainly in pictures instead of words.
  5. They are highly intuitive and insightful.
  6. They think and perceive multi-dimensionally (using all the senses).
  7. They can experience thought as reality.
  8. They have vivid imaginations.

  1. Rachel, my two sons have struggled with dyslexia - my oldest (17) overcoming quite well as far as reading, but he still has to work hard at spelling. I recently found a site that has confirmed some things for me and they share lots of interesting research I've never read (believe me - I feel as though I've read it all!) I would recommend spending some time here.
Wish I'd found it sooner - though some of the research is pretty fresh.
This link is to a particularly interesting article. I would be happy to get with you sometime and share some things that have propelled us forward. blessings
