Lessons learned the first 50 years

I hit a milestone. I turned 50 years old. I am thankful that I don't feel 50.   I am thankful for things God has taught me throughout those 50 years. .  I have learned that God loves mercy and when I feel a sense that justice needs to happen over mercy, all I need to do is remember that I am thankful for when God gives me mercy instead of a just punishment.   (Micah 6:8 8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.) ( Luke 6: 36  Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. ) I have learned that hurt people end up hurting people.   When I am able to see that I didn't hurt them but I am bearing the results of that persons hurt inflicted by other people, it helps me forgive whatever hurt they pushed onto me and move on.  (Romans 12 : 18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. )  I have learned that anyone who thinks they have God

John-MIchael gives hope to Trudy....

John-Michael is doing well..all indications state. He sees Dr. Boydston, his neurosurgeon, in June and his NF specialist, Kim Uhauss in July. We will know them if the cyst inside his spinal cord has dissolved and if the tumor by his spine is stable. I think it will be because he has had such little nerve pain in his legs since his surgery in July.
Today, we made a trip to our new favorite place... SaveTheHorses. (Www.savethehorses) is a horse rescue in Canton, GA. Each horse has a special story, but perhaps the most special is Trudy. Trudy suffered the worst imaginable torture at human hands..almost 15 years ago.   You can read about part of her story here... http://inhonoroftheking.blogspot.com/2012/02/feeding-trudy-abused-horse.html

She was rendered blind..but the emotional scars it left were much worse. It is the stuff nightmares are made of. Yesterday, Trudy had her own surgery, to remove one of her eyes which is believed to be cancerous. John-Michael bucket fed her today and talked to her. I am going to tell you what he said... it was precious. "Trudy, you are going to be o.k. I know you hurt, but I itch all the time and the NF makes me have some pain each day, but I am ok. You are a good girl and God's going to take care of you. He let me have NF but he gave me a good heart. God let you get hurt, but God have you a good heart". Then, he told me that he is glad he isn't a boy with no health issues and a mean heart. He said, "I am fine." He amazes me. The maturity he has at 8... wow! That is a God story. Enjoy the pictures of him with Trudy...
Two days later... John-Michael goes back to pray for Trudy to have ears like a Bat.....since she
can not see.  Sweet Boy!
