Lessons learned the first 50 years

I hit a milestone. I turned 50 years old. I am thankful that I don't feel 50.   I am thankful for things God has taught me throughout those 50 years. .  I have learned that God loves mercy and when I feel a sense that justice needs to happen over mercy, all I need to do is remember that I am thankful for when God gives me mercy instead of a just punishment.   (Micah 6:8 8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.) ( Luke 6: 36  Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. ) I have learned that hurt people end up hurting people.   When I am able to see that I didn't hurt them but I am bearing the results of that persons hurt inflicted by other people, it helps me forgive whatever hurt they pushed onto me and move on.  (Romans 12 : 18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. )  I have learned that anyone who thinks they have God

Today was a beautiful day to play with the big boys

Today ...and yesterday we went out to the horse rescue (www.savethehorses.org).   It is always a blessing to us.  Each time I go, I am amazed by the horses' intelligence and how similar they are to big dogs. You can call their names..and they will come (if they feel like it). :)  ..just like the dogs at my house.

Yesterday was Groundhog's day.  . which is a popular tradition in the United States.  On that day ...the groundhog, or woodchuck,  supposedly comes out of his hole after winter hibernation to look for his shadow;  It supposedly foretells six more weeks of bad weather ....if he sees his shadow; spring is coming if he cannot see his shadow because of clouds; supposedly  he goes back into his hole if more bad weather is coming and stays above ground if spring is near.   Statistical evidence does not support this tradition.     However, since we already have had a mild winter, I think he will be right this year..as ....he predicted an early spring.  It is kind of like saying who will win the superbowl with 30 seconds left in the game and the team ahead by 3 touchdowns.

Regardless, we enjoyed being outside..with the big boys..on this beautiful day...
