On Monday, we went back to the horse rescue place.
http://savethehorsesnow.org/savethehorsesnow/Save_the_Horses.html We met a beautiful horse, Star, that was a show horse until a mule bit her ear off. She STILL was beautiful but her owners no longer wanted her since she wasn't "perfect". We met several other horses and helped groom Cheyenne. We cleaned an arena and the petting zoo. (Yep, that means shoveling poo). My three kids STILL want to go back. After being there for two hours, we started the ride back home. In the van, John-Michael said, "Mommy, my stomach hurt all day but when I was with the animals... I hardly though about it. " I am so thankful that the sweet animals, that no one else wanted ...has helped relieve some of his pain.
Tuesday was our last day at our Hybrid school (a school where the kids go one day a week for testing and teaching...and home school the other 4). They go here :
Veritas Classical Schools. Anyway, John-Michael is one of the students in my class... important detail to the story. I asked my students to tell me something they wanted to thank God for. One child said... my brother. One child said ..a certain toy...etc. John-Michael? He said, "I am thankful for NF because I know God is going to use it for a big, good thing." That amazed me that my 2nd grader would say that. Each day ...NF can be a pain for him. He gets belly aches, leg pain, nerve pain in random spots in his legs, itchiness from the scar to have the large tumor removed by his spine..etc. You can read about him here..
http://www.carepages.com/carepages/JohnMichaeldp I have prayed and prayed that I NEVER want him to question God's goodness or God's love for him. I think God has answered that one.
JOhn-Michael sees the surgeon today. I don't expect any surprises. They just want to make sure all is healing well.
I am still trying to train for the 1/2 marathon on Thanksgiving Day. I have a sore foot..so it has been difficult to run the miles I need to run. We will see how this goo
