Lessons learned the first 50 years

I hit a milestone. I turned 50 years old. I am thankful that I don't feel 50.   I am thankful for things God has taught me throughout those 50 years. .  I have learned that God loves mercy and when I feel a sense that justice needs to happen over mercy, all I need to do is remember that I am thankful for when God gives me mercy instead of a just punishment.   (Micah 6:8 8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.) ( Luke 6: 36  Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. ) I have learned that hurt people end up hurting people.   When I am able to see that I didn't hurt them but I am bearing the results of that persons hurt inflicted by other people, it helps me forgive whatever hurt they pushed onto me and move on.  (Romans 12 : 18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. )  I have learned that anyone who thinks they have God

October 31st..what to do?

I have to say that Halloween is my least favorite holiday.  I have never been interested in "evil" scary things...even before I became a believer.  Then, I learned that God demands it from us... Romans 16:19
19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.
So...what do we do with October 31st?  We let the kids to go a costume party at First Redeemer church...then, we let them go "trick or Treating" to the people on our street (about 8 houses)...   I don't think they felt they missed out on a thing...

Posted by PicasaIn other news,  Madeline's teacher said that Madeline is the best story writer in her entire grade level.   No surprise...such an imagination..   I was so proud of John-Michael... The other day he said to me... "Mama, you have stolen my heart".... What a great husband he is going to be one day...   Also, he told a playmate (I just happened to hear)... "Joshua, what candy did you get yesterday?.... Well, I got 4 packs of my favorite candy, Skittles.   I gave two of the packs to my sister...because she really likes them, too".   I would NOT give my favorite candy away when I was 7!   I am so proud of him!  And...not to leave Noah out... His teacher caught me and told me that most of the 7th graders flunked their logic test.... Noah made a 100%!   (He takes after his father).. LOL!
