Lessons learned the first 50 years

I hit a milestone. I turned 50 years old. I am thankful that I don't feel 50.   I am thankful for things God has taught me throughout those 50 years. .  I have learned that God loves mercy and when I feel a sense that justice needs to happen over mercy, all I need to do is remember that I am thankful for when God gives me mercy instead of a just punishment.   (Micah 6:8 8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.) ( Luke 6: 36  Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. ) I have learned that hurt people end up hurting people.   When I am able to see that I didn't hurt them but I am bearing the results of that persons hurt inflicted by other people, it helps me forgive whatever hurt they pushed onto me and move on.  (Romans 12 : 18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. )  I have learned that anyone who thinks they have God

Better Day...

Today was so much better.  The fever is gone.  It is rare for me to be sick, but when I am ..I generally have a fever for a couple of days.  Not so this time.  I just had the fever for less than 7 hours.  Amazing!  Why? Perhaps because I did a juicing just weeks ago.  Perhaps because I ran 4 miles with a weighted
vest on...just hours before starting to run a fever... Yeah, yeah...some of you are going to say that's why I ran a fever. LOL... anyway, thankful..so thankful that I am feeling better.

If you read the above post, you will see a few months ago we found out our youngest has dyslexia.  I am doing all kinds of learning strategies to help him. One thing I am doing is having him read to me at night and then, I read to him at night.  Having been a teacher for 14 years, I have many books all over our house.  One is my favorite from when I was a kid.  I obviously haven't read it in a while...or it is just my ADHD (LOL)..that I haven't picked up on one of the lines of this book.  The book is The Giant Jam Sandwich by John Vernon Lord.   http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/giant-jam-sandwich-john-vernon-lord/1100191747   Here is the line I haven't picked up on before...  They stung Lord Swell on his fat bald pate, They dived and hummed and buzzed and ate.  (Pate..how often do you see that word in a children's book... my husband's ..and my... last name)..

Anyway, after I read it to John-Michael, his only comment was "This is the most "boringest" book ever."  Little stinker... I guess the hero birds at the end aren't his thing.
My oldest son, Noah, and me...no make-up and bed head..... who says I am not brave...
