Lessons learned the first 50 years

I hit a milestone. I turned 50 years old. I am thankful that I don't feel 50.   I am thankful for things God has taught me throughout those 50 years. .  I have learned that God loves mercy and when I feel a sense that justice needs to happen over mercy, all I need to do is remember that I am thankful for when God gives me mercy instead of a just punishment.   (Micah 6:8 8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.) ( Luke 6: 36  Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. ) I have learned that hurt people end up hurting people.   When I am able to see that I didn't hurt them but I am bearing the results of that persons hurt inflicted by other people, it helps me forgive whatever hurt they pushed onto me and move on.  (Romans 12 : 18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. )  I have learned that anyone who thinks they have God

Summer over?

How is it that summer is almost over?  Here are a few things I haven't blogged on yet that I want to remember. John- Michael had his  yearly MRI and follow up with the surgeon. We learned that the NF tumor by his spine has grown so he will have surgery On Wednesday to remove as much of it as possible.

We rescued a puppy and gave her the shots and spaying she needed. Then, I think we found a rocking home.  See photo above..with her new family.  (She is in the bed with the children). :)
John-Michael gave the horses hugs as we went a few weeks without being able to volunteer at the non-profit we have been volunteering at for nearly 2 years.  (He is hugging Spirit here). We worked as a family and build a lean to ... to provide a shelter for some horses at the rescue.

We went to Folly Beach and James Island, S.C. for
vacation.  Here are my three kids (Noah, Madeline, and John-Michael with my mother in law) .  Behind them is the Angel Tree.  The oldest tree East of  Mississippi.

Folly Beach was so relaxing... and beautiful!

And the BEST part of summer.... My 81 year old Father in law made a profession of faith in Jesus and was baptized.
What were some of your highlights of summer?
