Lessons learned the first 50 years

I hit a milestone. I turned 50 years old. I am thankful that I don't feel 50.   I am thankful for things God has taught me throughout those 50 years. .  I have learned that God loves mercy and when I feel a sense that justice needs to happen over mercy, all I need to do is remember that I am thankful for when God gives me mercy instead of a just punishment.   (Micah 6:8 8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.) ( Luke 6: 36  Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. ) I have learned that hurt people end up hurting people.   When I am able to see that I didn't hurt them but I am bearing the results of that persons hurt inflicted by other people, it helps me forgive whatever hurt they pushed onto me and move on.  (Romans 12 : 18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. )  I have learned that anyone who thinks they have God

The last few weeks have been about feeding the "good".. Trying to juice ..several times a day and make good food choices...
I would really rather have chocolate cake, or chocolate pie...or chocolate candy... or have junk food such as potato chips or corn chips, but I know that these are the good things for me.  Chocolate can't be my every day friend.  Madeline and I discovered green lemonade.  It is basically juicing kale, an apple, and a lemon.  It looks really bad, but truly taste just like lemonade.

at the Horse Rescue.  I want to teach my children that it is a good thing to assist others and care for others.  I want them to look for "good " works/ oppotunities.    I want them to know we don't do this FOR salvation, but  we do this out of a thankful heart, because of salvation.
1 Corinthians 1:30 says It is became of Him that you are in Christ Jesus.

When we see all that He has done, it moves us to gratitude..which moves us to action.  The Bible has several verses on this:

Matthew 5: 14 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Ephesians 2:  8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

I am thankful that HE purposefully puts us in a place where we will have to depend on Him to accomplish the task  (good work) at hand, therefore seeing His greatness and turning our worship more fully towards Him!  Isn't it amazing that He allows us to be apart of His plan? That's why "good works" should be a dirty word..but should excite us with thankful hearts.

We must obey Him and not get anxious about the outcome,... ...because the outcome is fully God's responsibility.

Praying that man see God's love reflected in me,
Rachel
