Ephesians Week 6

Ephesians 5   5  1  Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children   2  and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 3  But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.   4  Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.   5  For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [ a ]   6  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.   7  Therefore do not be partners with them. 8  For you were once darkness, but now you are light i...

Enjoying Green Lemonade John-Michael with 2000lb Bravo We have continued to volunteer  The last few weeks have been about feeding the "good".. Trying to juice ..several times a day and make good food choices... I would really rather have chocolate cake, or chocolate pie...or chocolate candy... or have junk food such as potato chips or corn chips, but I know that these are the good things for me.  Chocolate can't be my every day friend.  Madeline and I discovered green lemonade.  It is basically juicing kale, an apple, and a lemon.  It looks really bad, but truly taste just like lemonade.   at the Horse Rescue.  I want to teach my children that it is a good thing to assist others and care for others.  I want them to look for "good " works/ oppotunities.    I want them to know we don't do this FOR salvation, but  we do this out of a thankful heart, because of salvation.    1 Corinthians 1:30 says It ...

Cheering for the Dads...

I love this video.... I think if men knew how much women ENJOY watching them being good dads.... they would strive even more to do things like this.    I am so thankful for my husband and his willingness to do things he doesn't necessarily WANT to do, but does it anyway..... for our kids. What a impact fathers make!    Go, Dads! Psalm 103:13 13  As a father has compassion  on his children,      so the  Lord  has compassion on those who fear him; Psalm 112 [ a ] 1  Praise the  Lord. [ b ] Blessed is the man  who fears the  Lord,      who finds great delight  in his commands. 2  His children  will be mighty in the land;      the generation of the upright will be blessed. 3  Wealth and riches  are in his house,      and his righteousness endures  forever. 4  Even in darkness light dawns...

Happy 23rd Anniversary!

Image
Yesterday, we celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary.  It was my turn to help out at the horse rescue so Russ met us there.  He helped us feed so we could leave a little earlier. The kids had dinner at home (I made it first)..and then, Russ and I had a rare treat...dinner out ..without kids.   After eating Chinese food, he took me shopping to a local craft store to get face  paints for Saturday.  Saturday is Hay Day at the horse rescue (www.saveTheHorses.org).  Hay Day is a festival put on at the rescue to raise money for the horses Hay bill for the winter.  There will be pony rides, petting zoo, face paints, hot dogs, burgers, etc.  After our quick shopping, we came home and he gave me a box full of gluten-free cupcakes from a local bakery.   We had one while we watched the baseball play-offs.  Do you see the give and take?  I love the horse farm.  He loves to eat out.  I love to shop. :)  I love cupcakes... he l...

Riding the Waves in Folly Beach

Image
We just got back from a quick 3 day trip to Folly Beach, South Carolina.  My mother in law was able to go with us and watch as the butterflies migrated down the Atlantic coast.  Here are some of the highlights... Madeline looked for special shells  Noah dug for treasure..  I peered at the ocean and worked to get a week ahead in my Bible study on David.  JohnMichael filled up bucket after bucket to make his own puddle to sit in Madeline buried herself..  Madeline fed the birds John-Michael fed the birds  She is burying her brother..  John-Michael pretends to be ashamed  that his sister made him into a merman. We stopped to smell the flowers.. Madeline, me, Noah, John-Michael, and Russell  My mother in law with me.. I am amazed that God has loves my family and me so well...and brought us so far.  I know He KNOWS the real me...yet He doesn't give up on me. ...

Are you prepared for battle?

Image
Do you feel like the chihuahua?  Are you scared and  you know "its" coming?  You have to be wise to know that the devil  prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour... 1 Peter 5: 8... ( 8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. ) We can't be scared, as God didn't give us a spirit of fear.  We are secure in Christ.... but we can't ignore the devil and his schemes.  You have to be fully prepared... HOW? Ephesians 6: 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark wor...

Yesterday we got 3 inches of rain...and it was our day to help at the Horse Rescue.   I knew I couldn't get my scooter through the mud. (the scooter that keeps the weight off of my broken leg..)   .so I bought a heavy duty trash bag,   wrapped my boot, and grabbed my normal sneakers that I wear to the horse rescue.  And   ...I  drove to the rescue in the pouring rain.    So,  I finally arrived to the horse rescue, and it is still POURING.  I reach back  behind me to gather what I need so I can get out of the van and start working.    I grab my protective trash bag and place it on my orthopedic boot (that protects my stress fracture)..... and I reach back to get my icky shoe that I wear to the horse farm... and realize I have the wrong shoe (I need the right shoe/ but I had the left shoe).  LOL. Russell is often telling me I have my shirt on backwards..or inside out.  It is just part of being me. ...
