Lessons learned the first 50 years

I hit a milestone. I turned 50 years old. I am thankful that I don't feel 50.   I am thankful for things God has taught me throughout those 50 years. .  I have learned that God loves mercy and when I feel a sense that justice needs to happen over mercy, all I need to do is remember that I am thankful for when God gives me mercy instead of a just punishment.   (Micah 6:8 8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.) ( Luke 6: 36  Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. ) I have learned that hurt people end up hurting people.   When I am able to see that I didn't hurt them but I am bearing the results of that persons hurt inflicted by other people, it helps me forgive whatever hurt they pushed onto me and move on.  (Romans 12 : 18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. )  I have learned that anyone who thinks they have God

To get the Flu shot or NOT?

Well, if you have read my blog, you know that I am not a "regular" doctor knocker...but I do believe they are the LAST resort.  I believe our bodies have an incredible capability to heal and be healthy IF we feed it well (and stay away from things that aren't a good match for some...like gluten).....and if we exercise our bodies enough.   That said... I do think there are times to go to a regular doctor.  I do NOT think getting the flu shot is one of them.    My husband would say that he is a bit of a worry wart when it comes to the flu, so he and my oldest son... got the flu shot.  Well, my husband hasn't had a fever blister in 3 years (since he stopped eating wheat)... .. three days after the shot... he has a fever blister.  My 13 year old...?? He has had a low grade fever and hasn't felt great the last few days.  I think the shot isn't worth the possible protection.  It has been in the news this week that the flu shot isn't that effective anyway.  You can read more about it here...http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/27/flu-shot-only-59-percent-effective_n_1032916.html
 That's what I think...what about you?
