Ephesians Week 6

Ephesians 5   5  1  Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children   2  and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 3  But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.   4  Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.   5  For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [ a ]   6  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.   7  Therefore do not be partners with them. 8  For you were once darkness, but now you are light i...

I am trying to catch my blog up... several things have happened that I haven't blogged about.  My mother in law had a heart cath two days ago.  They said her heart is stable.  Good news.  However, when she came home (the same day), she saw that her Westies were taken from her yard.  Please pray she gets Jade and Bennie back.  Noah turned 14 years old.  He wanted to go eat Sushi (His daddy likes I...I do not).   He had a triple chocolate cake and went to the movies...as well as to go ride giant goKarts at a local amusement park.  Olivie', my little Pappi-poodle also had a birthday on the same day.  She is 2.  She is such a love bug.  John-Michael has been begging us to let her sleep with him and since she is a barker...and doesn't know how loud she barks...since she is deaf...we let John-Michael try it.  She is so much better at night.  Madeline and John-Michael decided I am the worst mom ever..since...

The worst of people/ the best of people... (horse rescue)....

Image
Today we took the kids on a field trip, to a horse rescue center just 20 minutes from my house..but a place I had not heard of..and obviously..hadn't visited.  Today, after being there for 2 hours, I can't wait to go back and volunteer with my 3 kids (yes, I mean mucking stalls, grooming horses, etc)...  You can read about this place at their website  www.savethehorses.org    Here is ONE story from their center: Trudy  From their website:  "Trudy is a sweet Appaloosa mare. She was rescued by a veterinarian in North Georgia in the mid 90’s. She's lived at the rescue facility since 1996. Trudy’s history includes the most physical and mental abuse of any horse on the farm. She was bound in barbed wire, then dragged behind a tractor. Trudy has much fear of humans and deservedly so. Her safest place is surrounded by horses, because she trusts them. She does not kick or strike, even though she can easily get revenge for her horror a...

Train up a child and when they are old... ..so when are they finally old?

Image
Proverbs 22:6 (New King James Version) 6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. So I have had the last week and 1/2 wondering..when, just when are they going to start staying on the path we have trained them up in? LOL.. As you know, my 7 year old (John-Michael) has a tumor by his spine and has a cyst inside his spinal cord. Dr. Boydston, his neurosurgeon, said surgery is very risky, so we are just watching it for now. He said, "No wrestling, no rough housing, no big roller coasters, etc". Well, I also have a crazy, impulsive, talkative, Russian-born daughter (who is just like me/ her mama)..and well, she did a crazy, impulsive thing last week and slapped John- Michael so hard on his back that it left marks on his back and him on the ground. She was playing tag, and impulsively… tagged him too hard. We have had the talk with Madeline ( my 10 year old daughter) and Noah (my 12 year old son) about the great need to be gentle ...
