Lessons learned the first 50 years

Image
I hit a milestone. I turned 50 years old. I am thankful that I don't feel 50.   I am thankful for things God has taught me throughout those 50 years. .  I have learned that God loves mercy and when I feel a sense that justice needs to happen over mercy, all I need to do is remember that I am thankful for when God gives me mercy instead of a just punishment.   (Micah 6:8 8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.) ( Luke 6: 36  Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. ) I have learned that hurt people end up hurting people.   When I am able to see that I didn't hurt them but I am bearing the results of that persons hurt inflicted by other people, it helps me forgive whatever hurt they pushed onto me and move on.  (Romans 12 : 18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. )  I have learned that anyone who thinks they have God

Each day we must decide  if will we pursue Wisdom or Folly?   Pursue Wisdom.... study His word.  Get your face in THE Book!  Proverbs 9   New Living Translation (NLT) 9  Wisdom has built her house;      she has carved its seven columns. 2  She has prepared a great banquet,      mixed the wines, and set the table. 3  She has sent her servants to invite everyone to come.      She calls out from the heights overlooking the city. 4  “Come in with me,” she urges the simple.      To those who lack good judgment, she says, 5  “Come, eat my food,      and drink the wine I have mixed. 6  Leave your simple ways behind, and begin to live;      learn to use good judgment.” 7  Anyone who rebukes a mocker will get an insult in return.      Anyone who corrects the wicked will get hurt. 8  So don’t bother correcting mockers;      they will only hate you. But correct the wise,      and they will love you. 9  Instruct the wise,      and they will be even wiser. Teach the

The Secret to Making Life Matter

The happiest people are those who do the most for others. The most miserable are those who do the least. Booker T. Washington Booker T. Washington knew Christ as his savior and Booker knew that Christ calls us to serve others. Serving is the key to unlock happiness.  When we know we are doing what God calls us to do, we are happy.   Look at John 2.   On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2  and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3  When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” 4  “Woman, [ a ] why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” 5  His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6  Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.
