Lessons learned the first 50 years

I hit a milestone. I turned 50 years old. I am thankful that I don't feel 50.   I am thankful for things God has taught me throughout those 50 years. .  I have learned that God loves mercy and when I feel a sense that justice needs to happen over mercy, all I need to do is remember that I am thankful for when God gives me mercy instead of a just punishment.   (Micah 6:8 8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.) ( Luke 6: 36  Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. ) I have learned that hurt people end up hurting people.   When I am able to see that I didn't hurt them but I am bearing the results of that persons hurt inflicted by other people, it helps me forgive whatever hurt they pushed onto me and move on.  (Romans 12 : 18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. )  I have learned that anyone who thinks they have God

God is my Crutch

My 5 year old was a little car sick before his -one-day-a week school on Tuesday. Let me explain; he only attends kindergarten at a Hybrid school ,Veritas Classical School; a school for homeschoolers- attending one day and homeschooling the other 4 days. He told me he didn't think he could go to Veritas because "I feel a little woonwe in my head". I said, "Honey, I don't know what "woonwe" is. Please tell me another way." He said, "You know, when you think you are all by yourself but you are not." Ahhh.... lonely. He was feeling a little lonely in his head. He was trying to tell me that he was feeling anxious.

How many times do we feel all by ourselves when we are not? Some say God isn't real that He is only a crutch. Well, let's look at the definition of a crutch.

crutch
n.
1. A staff or support used by the physically injured or disabled as an aid in walking, usually designed to fit under the armpit and often used in pairs.
2. A device used for assistance or support.

Now, let's look at what He says in His word:

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Psalm 37:23- 24If the LORD delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm;
24 though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

Psalm 63: 7 Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.
8 My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.

Those are just a few verses where God says He upholds us; the very thing a crutch does. Therefore, I will gladly say I rely on the LORD. I rely on Him when my friends hurt, when I am uncertain that John-Michael will be ok, when people let me down, when I let myself down.....

Be blessed...and acknowledge Him for He is LORD!
