Ephesians 2- Part 2

Study and learn. Be changed.  Ephesians 2 Made Alive in Christ 1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not

Why is Good Friday called Good? ...

Today is Good Friday, the day that Christ chose to go to the cross to bear your sins and my sins. It is good for us... good that He would choose to be beaten, mocked, and killed...that He would choose to have all of the world's sins placed on Him and have the Father look away from Him (breaking His relationship for the Father for the first time).. .. Amazing Love. Amazing Grace. Please take time today and reflect on the Gospel...the Good NEWS!

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
We have all sinned.  There are no perfect people..no one is without sin.  No one's sin is uglier or prettier than another.  . Read Through Romans 3:10-18 for more information.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Because of our sin, we are not in right relationship with God.  He can not look upon us.  He can not be with us. We can only know Him when we accept Christ as our LORD and Savior.   (*Note..some want to make Him Savior, but not LORD...it doesn't work this way).
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”   We would have denied Him. We would have crucified Him. We would have made fun of Him.  We would have spit upon Him. ..Yet, He still died for us.  When we were unlovable, He gave it all.
Romans 10:9, “…that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
What is our part to Heaven?  Only Faith.....  We can't be good enough..we can't be kind enough.. you can't give enough.. you can't deny yourself enough.  You must have faith that Christ’s blood was shed for you and  be willing to let HIM be the boss of your life.  Then, you will be saved! Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins and rescue us from eternal death. He bridged the gap. Salvation, the forgiveness of sins and us being  adopted by God, is available to anyone who will trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.   He makes us White as SNOW.
Romans 6:10-18 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
Repentance is necessary. You must turn from your sin (agree with God that  it is sin..and not do it anymore).   Honiness and obedience is our calling. You cannot claim Christ and still lead a life of sin. It is impossible. You will still sin, but you must diligently pursue righteousness.   (Read 1 John for more info).
Romans 5:1 “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Enjoying the Freedom in Christ,
Rachel
