Ephesians 2- Part 2

Image
Study and learn. Be changed.  Ephesians 2 Made Alive in Christ 1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not

Casting Nets

Image
Casting Nets.  I rarely paint anything for myself.  I too often paint for friends or clients  (www.scripturepainting.com).   But, this theme/ this story has been one I have been dwelling on for the last several weeks. ...so I have tried here and there...to paint. I think this painting, "Casting nets", sums up one of my overriding life issues..... trust.  Do I trust a carpenter...to tell me, a professional fisherman, how to fish?   Read Luke 5: 1-11 and you will see what I am talking about. 5 One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, [ a ] with the people crowding around him and listening to the word of God, 2 he saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. 3 He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.  4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let dow

Part 2 Beth Moore Simulcast Sept 15- 2 Kings 4

Image
Ok.... the 2nd part of the Simulcast was equally as good as the first.  Remember, it was about 2 women: 1. One who KNEW she had a huge need  2. One who did NOT know she had a huge need. You can read part 1 here. http://inhonoroftheking.blogspot.com/2012/09/grounded-literally-and-spiritually.html Part 2 focused on 2 Kings 4 The Shunammite’s Son Restored to Life  (Red is scripture/ black is Beth Moore's notes). 8 One day Elisha went to Shunem. And a well-to-do woman was there, who urged him to stay for a meal. So whenever he came by, he stopped there to eat. 9 She said to her husband, “I know that this man who often comes our way is a holy man of God. 10 Let’s make a small room on the roof and put in it a bed and a table, a chair and a lamp for him. Then he can stay there whenever he comes to us.” 11 One day when Elisha came, he went up to his room and lay down there. 12 He said to his servant Gehazi, “Call the Shunammite.” So he called her, and she stood before him.

Grounded (literally... and spiritually)..

Image
I am grounded.  Grounded because I can not run... maybe for as long as 6 months.  I saw an orthopedist and she stated that the fracture in my leg is much worse than the ER doctor thought.  I now have a boot I have to wear... all the time except when I am asleep.    I have to wear this boot and I was told to use crutches, but I was getting bruised ribs from using those. So, my husband rented a scooter that  saves my ribs and is just easier to get around.   That makes life so much easier... cooking, cleaning, living.... I went from this... (below)...    To this (scooter).... I have been able to use it to attend church, to go shopping, and even work in the horse-barn.   One of my friends has threatened to get me a teletubby horn. :)    I knew I couldn't do the crutches for 5 more weeks...or more.     So I am grounded... no running until the doctor tells me I can.   All I can do it roll along...with my scooter. This weekend I was able to go to a one day

What some Russians believe?

Image
We feel a big bond with Russia.  Ten years ago we spent about two weeks there (Moscow and Krasnoyarsk) as we brought home our daughter, Madeline.  I am so grateful that the judges allowed us to bring her into our family.  I was surprised to hear that some people in Russia believe we wouldn't want these children to be our children...but as organ donors.  I was even more sadden to hear that some adults tell the older orphans that so they refuse to be adopted out of fear due to these stories. I am so thankful that a 16 Ukrainian boy was recently adopted ...when he at first said no..because he had been told these stories.  He has now been in America for 6 months or so...and he made a video to tell about his experience.  I hope the people of Russia will see this.   We...like you... want to love our children.  In America...we are already  a "melting pot"...meaning..we are many nations.  My husband is Native American, French, and British.  I am Native American, Irish, and Bri

I am trying to catch my blog up... several things have happened that I haven't blogged about.  My mother in law had a heart cath two days ago.  They said her heart is stable.  Good news.  However, when she came home (the same day), she saw that her Westies were taken from her yard.  Please pray she gets Jade and Bennie back.  Noah turned 14 years old.  He wanted to go eat Sushi (His daddy likes I...I do not).   He had a triple chocolate cake and went to the movies...as well as to go ride giant goKarts at a local amusement park.  Olivie', my little Pappi-poodle also had a birthday on the same day.  She is 2.  She is such a love bug.  John-Michael has been begging us to let her sleep with him and since she is a barker...and doesn't know how loud she barks...since she is deaf...we let John-Michael try it.  She is so much better at night.  Madeline and John-Michael decided I am the worst mom ever..since I wouldn't them have  a cat as a pet... But these kittens
